As you can see I took this picture at the hair salon, just after the kids both had their hairs cut.
Major change for M1 he went totally short and did a little bleach action in the front, where M2 cut 5 inches off and did a blonde streak (a permanent headband we call it) They are both extremely excited about their new looks, and if dont remember their before, click on May 14th on the calendar to the left to see their school pix.
Schoooool’s out for summa…

great song, and amazing truth! I cant beleive that the school year is over, I truly remember selling yearbooks the last day of school last year… and today I was out there selling again, getting sunburned. I sold just about 10 more than my break even, so i was happy.
I truly feel like i am on break now… no more school responsibilities for me or the kids, no more need to get up by a certain time… when i get back from Florida, we will sleep in… this will be wonderful.
Now the packing and the last minute “to do” list appears. Ive got the suitcaseas started, and clothes ready to go.
Tomorrow is another big day… stay tuned as I will post before and after pix of the kids for their haircuts they are both promising drastic changes… we’ll see.

Well, the back meds are working, amazing as that seems! I feel a difference already.
Today is the last day of school, kids are ok with it M2 is feeling very say about not seeing her teacher, she loves her to death.
I am selling yearbooks all day, school is out at 12:35, so then home to start packing.
I have lists and lists of things to pack, all of which are not clothing (thats the easy part) its more the little things you “might” need while you are there, that i found on a website… “things NOT to forget on your trip to Disneyworld” So, we’ll see.
back to you later today!

Back Day

Today is the big day, i am finally having something done about my back, who knows if it will actually help, but figured it was a good time to do it, so that I possibly have some relief for Disney World.
I am off to a surgery center, that will perform an epidural to inject cortizone shots in my lower lumbar to the ruptured disc… (thanks Mom and Dad for driving down to be my “driver”!!)
Heard at first it will be numb so i will feel like “wow” this really works, then it will wear off and be sore for 2 days (thurs/fri) then i will start to feel the great powers of cortizone. That is, if it works for me.
So we will all be keeping our fingers crossed as I board the plan at 6:30am Saturday morning, yes that’s right 6:30 AM, but even with that crazy time, we still dont get to Disney until 6:00pm.
Speaking of Disney, I now have dining reservations at a sit down restaurant 1 per day, because we have the dining plan, it made sense to have the table service already reserved, so we didnt have to figure out where to go, and then wait in line
i will post tonight, on the back situation.
Oh, and did I mention that this morning there is a Tea in honor of us volunteers at the school that put in long hours to make the school run… and then i will run off to my appt.
After the appt, i need to get to the school by 2:45pm to sell yearbooks, they turned out quite nice this year, so I should sell alot today and tomorrow, and then tomorrow is the last day of school, amazing how quickly that happened!! Kids are bittersweet about it, they will miss their friends and their teachers, but not the homework.
toodles till later.
Long weekend, guess i took a break
May 27, 2008 at 6:21 am (Uncategorized)
hey there, no posting for 5 days, that was odd. Had a long weekend, had some guests, lots of preparation for Disney, and well… not a lot of computer time:)
Mom and Dad were here for two days, that was nice, Thanks Dad for helping with the beautiful new front screen door
Sis and kids were here, had a great time, chatted, ate, swam, shopped, all good
We went out and got last minute necessities for Disney, swimming suits, shoes, etc. I think we are almost ready, i still need to get a few things.
Why is it that when planning a trip to disney, i worry about doing it wrong, will i plan each day with enough time? can i plan each day so that we wont be exhausted and cranky? did i make the right decisions on where we are staying and how many days? and now that it is just 4 days away, i am reading every site I can with all the tips of what to bring, what to see, where to eat, its really driving me crazy… information OVERLOAD. I need to learn to just sit back and let it happen.
Today i have quite a busy day, on top of planning and shopping, i am buying and baking 5 pizza’s for M1’s class party (their last day of school is Thursday, so they are both having lots of parties this week).
I need to deliver all the yearbooks to the classrooms today at 2:30… that should be fun.
I will try and keep my head above water… thanks for listening.

Hey all you out there that are living vicariously through me, and really want to paint… or those of you reading this, that might already paint, and even took a class with me from Lauryn Taylor I’ve found a GREAT book.
I was at borders Tuesday and thought i would thumb through some acrylic painting books, and i stumbled across one that really caught my eye.
As I quickly read through it was tugging on my purse and say “buy me”…. so i did of course!
Title: The NEW Acrylics, complete guide to the new generation of acrylic paints
author: Rheni Tauchid
what I love about the book is the knowledge i am gaining about the different paints, techniques, and revisiting alot of what Lauren taught. I didnt realize that the colors we were set up to use in class were “new” color types, and the blending techniques of the certain colors was fairly new.
Also… a few new techniques for abstract with intriguing surfaces to paint on, or scrape through ![]()
the biggest problem i am having is the paint mediums… and this book has a whole chapter on it!! yeah… just thought i’d share.

Pioneer womanOriginally uploaded by Tammyspics
so, as you can see, I got in costume for the much anticipated Pioneer Day at the kids school. All 3rd and 4th graders participate. PTC funds the event, and parents volunteer.
There are so many great events throughout the day… just to name a few… Amazing Harmonatras, Blacksmith, Gold panning, square dancing, treat walk, woodworking (each child made a tool box. Herb shop, trading post, lemonade stand, leather stamping, and then there were all the field games (sack races, washboard relay, tug of war, and the much anticipated duck duck goose), but i think the thing the kids get most excited about is the hay rides.
I will upload the video i took sometime today, and post them here, its quite a lot of fun. But extremely tiring, and with the 40mph winds… it was a bit crazy.
We had PTC meeting last night, it always amazes me… we have 3 positions open, and filled one, with yet another full time working mother. I always think to myself, do us full time working moms have enough to do without committing ourselves to yet another thankless job? Apparently not, we always seem to come through for the school in the time of need, and I really havent decided if it is out of guilt, becuase we work, or if it is the fact that we have such amazing time management skills (only because we are forced to learn them or not survive). I would guess its a bit of both, still amazes me. I think I need to find a way to market the PTC as a fun way to stay involved with your kids school, as well as be first informed of all updates and changes to the environment. i will do that in my spare time
Anywho… off to a day of Disney planning. I really need to schedule our days in florida, so that I am able to relax when i am there… ha!
