Was a splendid weekend, we did a lot of necessary organization around the house, the boys went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth, they both really liked it. While the girls did a Costco run. We did get a lot of necessary food we were completely out of, and a few unnecessary movies/books/and flippers as well. It was fun.
Sunday was spent rearranging the formal living room. This room has really always gotten little to no use. I am really the only one who uses it, just sit and read, away from it all. But we decided to make it into a family game room, we’d been talking about it for awhile, but it was a chore, as we needed to move the Foosball table in from the shed (which meant removing the big ole legs). It turned out OK. Still feels a bit crowded, as I probably went overboard, with some of the items moved in.
I moved the “fake” fireplace up to our master bedroom, moved the “hope” chest which was full of comforters from, oh I don’t know 20 years ago, we good willed those, and filled the chest with all the family games we had in a cabinet upstairs. We kept the couch in the space, and we got a small game table (on clearance mind you
) and the kids love it… they pulled a game out of the “game” chest, put it on the table and played… sweet. And they had a wicked game of Foosball as well. I’m still contemplating the placement of it all, D likes it… but I’m thinking its still a bit awkward.

Last night, i searched the fridge for leftovers for dinner, everyone was in the pool and I knew they’d be hungry. I had one of those pizza crusts from Pillsbury, in the can (from the fridge section) so i decided to cut those up into to tiny pieces (48 to be exact) and I placed the little squares into the bottom of the mini muffin pans, and then I proceeded to squirt on a bit of pizza sauce, a piece of pepperoni and a sprinkling cheese… and I cooked them for about 8 min. wow… I brought those out to the swimmers (included one of Max’s friends), and they DEVOURED them. it was sweet, as they just had to pop them in their mouth, not messy at all! Was a good makeshift… snack (as they were still hungry after… yes after all 48!!
Now granted this doesn’t really fit into the WW core plan, but as far as points go, because they were so small i calculated the points and I could eat 2 for 1 point… which (didn’t fill me up) wasn’t that bad.
Back to work today, for a full week, with a nice surprise of D staying home today, so no rush to get the kids to camp, or pick them up tonight, which will make the trip to the grocery a bit less stressed. Gotta run to a meeting now.

I love the fact that you’re taking an unused room and turning it into a family game room. And although it’s just a small area it is still functional and fun for the family to share some good memorable times together. I don’t think it looks too crowded at all. And in my opinion too many formal living rooms are underused so it’s nice to see one that actually has some action going on in it.

You have a great game room going. I don’t think it looks crowded either. A dart board might me a good addition. It’s inexpensive and doesn’t take up much room. We have some nice darts here.
